Write for Journal of Dental Clinics
The International Journal of Dental Clinics is a reader-supported dental resource. We publish plain-English guides to clear aligners and invisible braces, dental implants, teeth whitening, cosmetic dentistry, everyday dental care and the supplements and products people ask their dentist about. Our readers are patients weighing up treatment, parents with questions, and dental professionals who want a clear second opinion on a procedure or a product. If you can write for those people with accuracy and without hype, we would like you to write for us.
We accept guest posts from dentists, orthodontists, hygienists, dental students, practice managers and experienced health writers. A clinical qualification is not required for every topic, but where an article gives clinical guidance we will ask for the author's credentials or have it reviewed before publication.
What we publish
- Clear aligners and orthodontics: Invisalign, at-home aligner brands, braces alternatives, retainers, costs by state and country, and honest comparisons between providers.
- Restorative and cosmetic dentistry: implants, bridges, dentures, veneers, crowns, bonding and what each option costs and involves.
- Everyday dental care: brushing and flossing technique, gum health, sensitivity, toothache relief, wisdom teeth, children's teeth and diet.
- Teeth whitening: professional treatments, strips, pens, natural methods and what actually works on sensitive teeth.
- Dental products and supplements: reviews of mouth guards, electric toothbrushes, aligner cleaners, vitamins for teeth and gums.
- Dental practice marketing: SEO for dentists, patient acquisition, reviews, websites and the business side of running a clinic.
Guest posts and sponsored articles
We publish two kinds of contributed content. A guest post is editorial written by a contributor who wants to share knowledge with our readers. A sponsored post is a paid placement commissioned by a dental brand, clinic, aligner company, software vendor or agency that features its product or service within a genuinely useful article. We accept both, and both must give the reader something they can use.
Our link policy is stated plainly. Published articles are permanent, indexed and carry dofollow editorial links to the author's website or to the sources cited. We do not remove articles later and we do not change links to nofollow after publication. Sponsored posts are labelled as sponsored where disclosure is required, and any article containing a paid link is marked in line with our reader-supported disclosure. Pricing for sponsored articles is available on request. Typical turnaround from acceptance to publication is three to five working days.
Guidelines
Please read these contributor guidelines before you submit an article. Submissions that ignore them are declined without review.
- Original content only. The article must not appear anywhere else, including your practice blog or social profiles. We check every submission.
- Minimum 800 words. Our most-read guides are 1,200 to 2,000 words. Cover the question fully rather than padding to a target.
- Medical accuracy matters. Cite guidance from recognised dental bodies or peer-reviewed sources where you make a clinical claim. One or two relevant links in the body are welcome.
- No gambling, adult or pharmaceutical content. We also decline articles that promote unlicensed dental products or that tell readers to skip professional care.
- Write for patients, not for search engines. Explain what a treatment feels like, what it costs, how long it takes and what can go wrong.
- An author bio of two or three sentences with one link is optional; for clinical topics we recommend including your qualifications.
- We edit for house style, clarity and accuracy. Substantive changes are agreed with you; small edits are made without consultation.
- Send drafts as a Google Doc link or a Word file. Images must be your own or properly licensed.
How to pitch
Email guestpost@intjdc.org with the subject line "Guest post: [your topic]". Include a working title, two or three sentences on the angle and who it helps, and a line about your background. If you are proposing a sponsored post, say so in the first line and tell us which brand, clinic or product the article will feature so we can confirm fit and send pricing. Finished drafts are welcome and are reviewed faster than pitches.
We reply to every pitch that follows the guidelines, usually within two working days. If you have not heard back within a week, please resend in case your message was filtered.
Whether you want to write for us as a regular contributor, submit an article you have already drafted, or place a sponsored post in front of readers researching dental treatment, the address is guestpost@intjdc.org.
